오직 부르심을 받은 者(자)들에게는 유대人이나 헬라人이나 그리스도는 하나님의 能力(능력)이요 하나님의 智慧(지혜)니라. (헬라인=그리스 사람)
하나님의 어리석음이 사람보다 智慧(지혜)롭고 하나님의 弱하심이 사람보다 强하니라.
兄弟들아 너희를 부르심을 보라. 肉體(육체)를 따라 智慧(지혜)로운 者가 많지 아니하며 能(능)한 者가 많지 아니하며 門閥(문벌) 좋은 者가 많지 아니하도다.
그러나 하나님께서 世上(세상)의 미련한 것들을 擇(택)하사 智慧(지혜) 있는 者들을 부끄럽게 하려 하시고 世上(세상)의 弱한 것들을 擇(택)하사 强한 것들을 부끄럽게 하려 하시며 하나님께서 世上(세상)의 賤(천)한 것들과 蔑視(멸시) 받는 것들과 없는 것들을 擇(택)하사 있는 것들을 廢(폐)하려 하시나니
but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.
27
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;
28
and the [m]base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,
29
that no flesh should glory in His presence.

但在那蒙召的，無論是猶太人、希利尼人，基督總為神的能力，神的智慧。
因神的愚拙總比人智慧，神的軟弱總比人強壯。
弟兄們哪，可見你們蒙召的，按著肉體有智慧的不多，有能力的不多，有尊貴的也不多。
神卻揀選了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又揀選了世上軟弱的，叫那強壯的羞愧。
神也揀選了世上卑賤的，被人厭惡的，以及那無有的，為要廢掉那有的。
使一切有血氣的，在神面前一個也不能自誇。
但在那蒙召的，無論是猶太人、希利尼人，基督總為神的能力，神的智慧。 Dàn zài nà méngzhāo de, wúlùn shì Yóutàirén, Xīlìnīrén, Jīdū zǒng wéi Shén de nénglì, Shén de zhìhuì.
因神的愚拙總比人智慧，神的軟弱總比人強壯。 Yīn Shén de yúzhuō zǒng bǐ rén zhìhuì, Shén de ruǎnruò zǒng bǐ rén qiángzhuàng.
弟兄們哪，可見你們蒙召的，按著肉體有智慧的不多，有能力的不多，有尊貴的也不多。 Dìxiōngmen na, kějiàn nǐmen méngzhāo de, ànzhe ròutǐ yǒu zhìhuì de bù duō, yǒu nénglì de bù duō, yǒu zūnguì de yě bù duō.
神卻揀選了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又揀選了世上軟弱的，叫那強壯的羞愧。 Shén què jiǎnxuǎn le shìshàng yúzhuō de, jiào yǒu zhìhuì de xiūkuì; yòu jiǎnxuǎn le shìshàng ruǎnruò de, jiào nà qiángzhuàng de xiūkuì.
神也揀選了世上卑賤的，被人厭惡的，以及那無有的，為要廢掉那有的。 Shén yě jiǎnxuǎn le shìshàng bēijiàn de, bèi rén yànwù de, yǐjí nà wúyǒu de, wèiyào fèidiào nà yǒu de.
使一切有血氣的，在神面前一個也不能自誇。 Shǐ yíqiè yǒu xuèqì de, zài Shén miànqián yí gè yě bù néng zìkuā.
